Sending us a sample
Everything you need to put a vial in a box: what to send, how much, where, what it costs, how you pay, and what happens to it. No account, no quote.
1 · Tell us what is coming
Order online, or send one prefilled email. The price is on the list and does not change by who asks; the lot reference you give is printed on the report so your buyer can match it to the vial.
Or write to help@cupel.ca with the analyte, the test code, the number of vials and your lot reference. The intake sheet (PDF, 40 KB) goes in the box with the sample, one per sample (one lot each); a box of many lots takes the manifest (PDF, 49 KB), one line per lot. The Received time and the accession number are written in the laboratory-use strip when the sample is logged.
2 · What to send, and how much
- Identity (ID) — one sealed vial as sold
- Purity (PUR) or both (IDP) — one sealed vial as sold
- Mass per vial (QNT) — three sealed vials as sold
- Water content (H2O) — two sealed vials as sold
- Bacterial endotoxin (LAL) — one sealed vial as sold
- Full panel (FULL) — five sealed vials of the same lot, as sold: three are dissolved whole, by mass, to 2.0 mg/mL nominal in LAL reagent water (10 mM Tris of LAL grade for semaglutide, tirzepatide and retatrutide), for content per vial; purity, identity and endotoxin are taken from those solutions. Two more are used whole for water content.
Vials received beyond the requirement are retained unopened for 30 days after the report issues.
Send the sealed container exactly as you received it: do not decant, reconstitute or relabel it. One lot per accession. Room temperature is fine for a lyophilised powder in transit; if yours needs cold chain, say so in the email and we will tell you how we receive it.
3 · Where
- help@cupel.ca
- Ship to
- 2599 Speakman Dr
Mississauga, ON L5K 1B1 - Telephone
- None: we work by email, so every answer is in writing.
- Country
- Canada
We accept samples from anywhere in the world. Before you ship from outside Canada, email us first: we confirm with you who is the importer of record and how the lyophilised peptide is to be declared for your shipment.
4 · What it costs, and how you pay
Identity and purity together are $185 per sample; every price is published. We email the invoice as soon as your testing request is submitted, payable on receipt; testing starts when your sample is logged, and a missed turnaround refunds the payment.
Payment details come with the invoice, which we email when you submit your request.
5 · What happens to it
- We log receipt to the minute, in UTC. That time is printed on the report as Received, it starts the 10-business-day clock, and it is the one the guarantee is held to.
- We run it. If we have a question about the sample we write to you, and the clock pauses until you answer.
- We send you the report, with its accession number, its hash and a QR that verifies without us. The report is published at its own address and listed on /reports; no sender's name appears on it, your lot reference does.
- Leftover material is held for 30 days after the report issues, in case a re-test is requested, and is then destroyed. We do not return it.
6 · Before you send
By sending a sample you accept the terms: the report is published under its number whatever it says; you confirm you may lawfully possess and ship the material; results are as measured, with liability limited to the fee. They are short and worth reading.
If something goes wrong
What happens when the identity does not match, the vial arrives opened, or the peptide is not on our list.
Are you accredited?
Cupel holds no ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, and results are not accredited results. Accreditation covers only the analytes named in a laboratory’s scope document, so ask to see the scope before relying on a badge.
What can’t the report tell me?
Whether the material is safe, sterile or lawful to possess; whether other vials in the lot match the one we tested; or anything about handling after the sample left us. Purity is area percent at one wavelength, not mass percent. The limits page sets these out.
What happens if the identity does not match?
The report says so, under its number, exactly as a confirmed identity would: the observed ions, the theoretical ions, and the deviation. We do not test a different vial or re-run until it matches. We write to you on the day the report is published. The report is published either way, and nothing you answer changes it.
What if the vial arrives opened, damaged or unlabelled?
We log it as received, record its condition in the result record, and email you before any test. An opened or reconstituted vial can still be tested, but the report records its condition on receipt, because a result on a vial someone has opened is not a result on the product as sold. If you want to know how a vial broken in transit or a sample lost in our hands is handled, ask us before you ship.
Can I ask for a re-test?
If you may want a re-test, ask us before you send the sample and we tell you how it is handled.
What if my peptide is not on your list?
Ask before you ship. Identity by mass spectrometry needs the molecular formula; with it we can confirm that the main component has that formula, and purity by HPLC is usually possible. An identity result alone does not say how much of the vial is that peptide; order Purity with it if that is the question. If we cannot test it, we say so before you pay anything and before you send it.
Can you test a sample and not publish the result?
No. Every report is published at its own address under its number. That is the product; a private result would be a different product, and we do not sell it.
Where is my sample?
The emails about your order (the confirmation, each sample-logged email and the status digest) carry a “Follow this order” link to a private status page: one page for the order, a card per sample with its state, its accession once logged, and its report once issued. The page is rewritten whenever the site is rebuilt and says when that was. If the link is lost, write to us from the address the order was placed from and quote the order reference; /track/ explains the page.
